Frequently asked questions
Everything parents ask before subscribing to Talpyn – the course itself, ages and languages, how billing works, and how we handle a child's data.
What is Talpyn?
Talpyn is a subscription-based online course for school mathematics. It combines interactive theory, adaptive exercises and progress tracking, and is built and operated by Codo LLP, a company registered in Kazakhstan.
What math does the course cover?
Talpyn covers school mathematics – arithmetic and number, algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics and probability – organised by concept and mastery rather than by school grade or a specific national curriculum. A student works through topics in order of difficulty and readiness, starting from where they actually are rather than following a fixed calendar.
What age is Talpyn for?
Talpyn is designed for school students roughly 9 to 16 years old. Because the course follows concepts and mastery rather than grade level, a student's actual starting point in the course can be earlier or later than their age alone would suggest.
What languages is the interface available in?
The learning app's interface is available in English, Kazakh and Russian, and you can change the language at any time in account settings. Course theory and exercises are written in all three languages.
How does the subscription work?
Talpyn is sold as a subscription: $25 per month, or $250 per year (equivalent to two months free compared with paying monthly), priced in US dollars. International checkout is not open yet; when it opens, subscriptions will be sold through Paddle, our merchant of record, which will handle checkout, applicable taxes and billing security. A subscription then renews automatically until you cancel.
How do I cancel, and can I get a refund?
Once subscribed, you will be able to cancel at any time using the subscription management link in your Paddle receipt email, or by writing to support@codo.kz. Cancelling stops future renewals; the period you already paid for stays active until it ends. Refunds are handled by Paddle under its refund policy and the consumer protection law of your country of residence.
What about my child's data and parental consent?
A child's account is created or authorised by a parent or legal guardian. For children under 14, the account becomes active only after verifiable parental consent, requested by email or messenger. We collect the minimum needed to run the course – a name or username, learning progress, and a date of birth or school year for the age gate – and we do not collect a child's home address, phone number, photos or location. Full detail is in our Privacy Policy.
Does my child need their own email address?
No. A student can sign up and log in with a username and password alone – email is optional for students. A parent's email address, or phone number if they choose messenger instead, is used for the parent's own account and for the parental-consent request.
Does Talpyn work on a phone?
Yes. Talpyn is a responsive web application: it works in a phone's browser and adapts its layout to a phone screen, without installing a separate app.
How is Talpyn different from free math problem sites?
Free problem sites are usually a loose collection of exercises without a path through them. Talpyn is a structured, paid subscription: theory and exercises are organised by concept and mastery, difficulty adapts to how the student is doing, and progress is visible to parents. It carries no advertising and does not sell data, because the subscription is what funds it instead. Whether that structure is worth paying for depends on what a family is looking for.

Australia
Does Talpyn follow the Australian Curriculum?
Talpyn is an independent maths practice subscription. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ACARA (the Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority) or NAPLAN. Course content is organised by concept and mastery rather than matched to a specific curriculum edition or state syllabus – Talpyn is a maths practice subscription, not a substitute for your child's school program.
Does Talpyn help with NAPLAN?
NAPLAN (the National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy) is sat by students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9. Talpyn is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by ACARA or NAPLAN, and it is not a NAPLAN preparation product – ACARA's own guidance is that students are not expected to specially study for the test. Talpyn is general maths practice that supports understanding either way.
What currency will Australian families be charged in?
Prices are set in US dollars – $25 a month or $250 a year. Local AUD pricing is not available yet.
